Welcome to the Pixie Led Test Drive Meme!

The prompts will always be game canon, provided both characters who participate in a thread are either already in the game, or get accepted in the next application round.

You do not need an invitation to join the Test Drive Meme, it's open for anyone!

🦋 The Party

You wake up at a party.

You're not sure how, exactly, you got here. You may have just been walking in the woods or at a meeting for work or doing any other normal activity for you. But you know you weren't supposed to be at this party, you're fairly certain.

Anyone you ask about it will say the party is for you. You and the others also waking up and looking confused. Further questions will lead to the partygoers insisting you have something to eat. You're starving and others are eating the food without repercussion, so you figure there's no harm in a bite. You finish your portion.

It seems to be a holiday party of some sort, if the large, candle-decorated pine tree in the middle of the tables is any indication. While the party appears to be outside, the temperature is mild and pleasant within the gates and hedges sectioning the party off from the rest of the garden. Stars twinkle overhead, a full moon hanging in the sky, as fluffy flakes of oddly not-cold snow drift to the ground. Some of the hosts dance in a circle around the pine tree, moving their hands around in odd patterns as their feet move; it seems to make the tree glow. The mood seems to be festive, with everyone smiling brightly. Their chipper voices sometimes crescendo louder than the soft chamber music that's being performed in the corner; their laughter rings out like little bells now and then as people get settled.

There are candles and sprigs of pine on every table accenting the festive spread of food and drinks. There are cookies, olives and cheese and crackers, various sliced meats, cranberries and oranges, chocolate coins, fried potatoes of every shape and style, warmed cider and mulled wine, and every other type of food you might be craving.

As the party winds down and everyone's eaten, a tall, stately woman stands up and speaks. You feel her voice more than hear it.

I am the Lawspeaker of the Fae, elected by Seelie and Unseelie alike, and you are all, now, subjects of Faerie. You cannot leave this realm once you have eaten our food, and even if you could, there is no saying how much time has passed back where you're from. Your loved ones are likely dead, your problems have likely played out. We require assistance in various matters, and each of you has been chosen for your talent and skill. You will be adopted by one of the Seelie or Unseelie Courts based on your strengths and personality. Your Court will decide what to do with you from there.

As suddenly as she stood, she sits back down.

🦋 A Great Miracle Happened There

In front of you sits a spinning top with symbols you don't recognize on each of its four sides. Next to it is a pile of chocolate coins. Someone nearby helpfully explains that you'll need a second player to bet against, but they at least are willing to take a second to explain the rules.

Each round, each player puts a coin into the pot. Then they take turns spinning the top, taking an action depending on the symbol that is landed on. The wind chime means you do nothing. The coin means you take everything in the pot. The sword means you take half of everything in the pot (half plus one if there is an odd number). The hand means you put a piece of your winnings back in the pot. When one person owns every chocolate coin and the other person is left with nothing, they have won the game.

Perhaps you should try and flag someone down to play a game to figure out what's going on around here. After all, half of the party guests look about as confused as you do, and it might be a nice idea to start getting to know the other people here.

🦋 Eat Me

Tucked away in a corner sits the dessert table. Each cake, cookie, and pastry has signs next to them:

But everything else you've had tonight doesn't seem to have an effect, so what's the harm in a little sweet treat? You dig in, and then, without your knowledge, something changes about you. What those changes are, exactly, is dependent on the desserts you've eaten. Luckily the effect is only temporary; some only last a matter of minutes, some last hours, but either way as soon as you leave the party, you'll be cured.

Types of Desserts

• Cakes: You will believe you've lived in the Fae Realm your whole life and belong there
• Cookies: You will shrink down to about two inches tall
• Pies: You will forget someone important to you
• Candies: You will no longer be able to tell any lies
• Custards: You will grow a tail, antennae, wings, or any combination thereof

You feel a vibration in your pocket sometime after the Lawspeaker addresses everyone. When you search for the source, you will pull out your Leaf, the device the Fae use to stay in touch with each other. Anyone who's used a smart phone will easily recognize how it works.

When Does the GEIS Prompt Take Place Relative to the Others?

The Lawspeaker will post her question as the party starts to wind down. Your character could answer while still at the party or after it if you prefer.

Do the Fae Party Guests Look Human?

Some of them will, to help make the Adopted feel more comfortable. But most will not bother. Some figure they look similar enough that a human won't be able to tell they aren't one (thus creating an Uncanny Valley sort of effect). Others simply just do not care about the comfort of their guests and will walk around with their full Fae appearances.

Feel free to get creative about their appearances! You're not limited to just wings and pointy ears.

How Long Do The Effects of the Desserts Last?

All effects end when the party does. Besides that, the length of time each dessert lasts is whatever's most fun for you. Feel free to have the desserts' effects last all night, or say they only last 5 minutes.

It is not clear why you're here. In the hustle and bustle of the party, of different people and fae alike greeting you with small talk and encouraging you to eat, you find yourself in a lavishly decorated table with a spread of food and drinks. You don't know how you ended up here. You don't even know this table existed earlier. It absolutely looks vastly different from the others. Bigger and more luxurious with an air of importance to it. You are sure you haven't seen it before.

Or have you?

The food and drinks don't seem untouched, so this just means someone, or perhaps some fae, is dining here. Question is, where are they?

[Weird ass bullshit. These aliens were treating him like a pet, yet he had basically free rein to do what he pleases in here? Eat what he wants, sit where he wants, play game, dance, he even saw one guy trying to murder some of the aliens... only to be laughed at basically.

So, with that in mind, Till - in his daze of trying not to let grief overwhelm him - sits at this table without thought and pokes at some food to nibble. He's not really bothered by how it's obvious someone was here before.]

The Party

[ Prince Hagalaz sits at the head of the main table; the seat of honor. As much as this was to trap their newest pets, it was also a celebration of the height of his rule. A yearly tradition they simply invited a few new guests to. It was fine; he could share the spotlight.

The seat next to him is unoccupied, so he waves down someone walking past. ] Greetings. Perhaps you would like to join me. [ His tone of voice suggests that he's not asking. ] Tell me a joke from where you hail.

[ Sitting just beside Hagalaz is none other than the King himself. When Hagalaz flags one of their pets guests, he shakes his head, smile keen on his features. ]

My dear prince, you and your love for comedy. [ He remarks, taking a sip of his wine. ] I must say you have truly outdone yourself with the preparations for this year's gathering.

I commend you. [ His smile broadens, then a playful wink. ]

[The party is like a dream.

Everywhere one turns there are the ethereal fae gliding from here to there, with their dazzling, sharp smiles and their intricate, rich clothing, drowning in strings of pearls and showers of petals. Their faces shift and change as easily as the diaphanous material they’re wearing, which shimmers and ripples over their bodies like water. They dip and curtsey and let loose twinkling laughs that twist into cackles at the end. They are terrifying in their perfect beauty.

And then there is Goro Akechi.

Dressed in a skintight, striped bodysuit, with clawed gloves and excessive belts, his strange helmet tucked under his arm, the teenager is a total eyesore against the wondrous backdrop that’s been painted of this party.

And it only gets worse once he starts stabbing.

It takes no time at all for the teenager to be surrounded wherever he steps, delicate fae fingers and sharpened claws and who knows what else touching the boy all over - running over his silky hair, across his narrow shoulders, down his arms, plucking at his odd outfit, all cooing at their strangely-dressed, but attractive new pet. What a pretty specimen, with some more appropriate attire, won't he look lovely trailing behind some higher ranked fae, like an obedient little puppy?

The music softens just as Akechi snaps, making certain his response snarls out over the murmured conversations taking place just as he full on stabs the fae in front of him, his serrated sword thrust straight into their chest.]

I do not belong to you!

[And then the screaming begins.]

[It’s some time later, after the screams have shifted back into twinkling laughs and whispered gossip, that a dark shape skitters up one of the walls of the room, leaving behind claw marks all of the way up to Akechi’s new hiding spot, above everyone in a little alcove near the ceiling. His helmet fully secure in place again, it’s only those piercing red eyes that give his position away.

After a wonderful first impression, Akechi has zero intention in letting himself get cornered by the strange hosts of this party all over again, so he’ll just sit out their pointless games and start collecting information instead.

Though it’s a tight squeeze, there’s enough room for someone else to slip in beside the teenager, if they really want to try after the chaos he caused earlier.]

The Party

[ Tony can rest, finally. His eyes close for the last time and- Open right back up again when he hears music. He pulls himself out of his chair and takes a look around as he tries to figure out what's going on. He looks down. He's still wearing the Mark 85. And the twisted, burned metal he can see on his right arm tells him he won, which meant this had to be- He gulps; he can't help himself.

He gets up to take a closer look around. The fiddle and flute music swells as Tony makes his way across the dancefloor.

A beautiful woman with batlike wings makes her way to the stage where the band is performing and starts singing along to the music in some language he's never heard before. As Tony starts to sway along with the song, someone passes by him and he figures no harm in making a good first impression in the afterlife. ]

Wanna dance? [ He says, grabbing their arm. ]

Eat Me

[ "Warning: Do Not Eat" huh? This must be where they're hiding the fun snacks. Tony immediately goes for a cookie, taking a small bite. He feels fine, like he did after the rest of the food he'd eaten earlier. He finishes the cookie off.

The next thing he realizes is that everything seems to be getting quite a bit taller. And taller. And-

Tony flies up on the table he'd been eating from using his three working repulsers, landing on the table with a slightly graceless oof before slowly rising back to his feet and staring openly at the desserts now towering over him. ] What the hell...? [ Damn but your brain comes up with some weird shit as you're dying. He recovers from his shock quickly enough and casually leans against a cupcake as someone else approaches the table. ] Mind the sign, buddy. [ Tony squeaks. ] They're not kidding.

[Taako heard the sound of someone making a dumb decision. He has to get a look. So he watches Tony eat this deeply obvious trick of a snack. And then watches him shrink.

He laughs when the man practically squeaks.]

Sorry, what was that? Couldn't hear you, Tiny!

ia. Wake Up - The Party

Mizi.

The first thing he remembers is Mizi. Beautiful and kind and crying for him as he lay there dying. His light, his hope, returned only to be ripped away by a bullet to the neck. So, when he opens his eyes again, the pain is gone, the ceiling different? But most importantly--

"Mizi!?" He sits up and looks around, panicked. Where was she? But everywhere he looks he doesn't see her shock of pink hair (short now, almost a stranger), doesn't see the woman who is the embodiment of his hope. His muse.

Ivan. Grief smashes into him again and for a very long moment, he sits there face in his hands trying to convince himself not to shutdown again. Mizi was gone again and Ivan was gone for good. He feels hopeless, helpless, he wishes he could scream and cry, but instead he just sits there breathing through the heart wrenching grief of his whole universe being destroyed again.

How does he go on without the people he loves? He can't breathe without Ivan, he's blind without Mizi--

"Fuck... what the hell is going on..."

ib. Sleepyhead - The Party

The next few dozen or more minutes are a blur of talking to these segyein(????) and humans(?????) and yelling more than few times, maybe there have been some attempts to get violent, but it never lands. He might be an unruly pet in their eyes and in actuality, but he's not stupid enough to actually cause too much trouble when he's this outnumbered.

Still, it yields nothing. No answers, no Mizi, no stage, nothing... Like, how the fuck was he alive? There's no blood or bullet wound, just unblemished skin, smooth and unmarred other than the silver brand that says TILL on the left side of his neck.

It's like it never happened.

All there is this weird ass party that sends shivers down his spine. He hates parties and what they usually meant for him, but they aren't making moves for him to perform... just eat. Weirdos.

He ignores the hunger and suggestions as long as he can, the tree catching his attention enough to be curious instead of motionless. It-- was it real? He's heard of real trees, but he's never seen one. It smells... nice. Till just watches, curious, because this is wholly unfamiliar... but it's kind of pretty.

If approached, he'll greet you with a surly expression, "Yeah? Wait- don't ask, I don't know shit."

ii. Rise & Shine - Eat Me

[Honestly, Till ignores the sign completely, because it sounds like a trick. Which means to eat them. Right? Eventually he was convinced to eat earlier but this seems different... Fuck it.

He looks at the assortment of treats and the one that attracts him most is the pie. Looks and smells less sweet than the others and while he loves sweets too, he's more interested in something he's never seen before. So, without the hesitation he should have, he takes a bite of the slice of keylime pie he has and...

Weirdly, his heart feels lighter and hollow, like it's not weighed down by an unending grief and devastatingly broken heart but it's also missing something, like some of the life has drained from him. Not that he even notices any of this, but there's a different light to his eyes now, no longer does he look on the verge of a breakdown, but some of his spark is missing too. Still, he's not doing great because where the fuck is Mizi, but it's like a suffocating weight on his soul is just gone.

Empty in the worst way possible.

He rubs at his chest idly, like there's something missing, something important, like his heartbeat changed, but...]

What the fuck is in this?

iii. Time to Face the Day - Geis

okay? this is fucking weird... anyway... a friend of mine got me a box of bandages once because i was always getting hurt. they were cute and i loved them, mostly because they were from her. then i'm pretty sure my asshole friend stole them and gave them back to me like he found them... i don't have proof, but it seems like something he'd do.

"Seems like that's going around," said the absolute disaster who'd just approached him, apparently unbothered by any surly expressions happening. Till might be the picture of health despite whatever he'd just gone through, but this one was evidence that nothing was actually guaranteed, the rough bandage on her shoulder deeply stained, chain mail looking almost rusty with dried blood. For all that, her voice was soft and even, face serene as she trained her gaze on the tree. She shifted her weight to lean a little more heavily on the glaive that was currently serving as a walking stick.

"Did they do something to you? The ones you were yelling at just a bit ago."

[Taako sits with all the boredom of a five year old in a log cabin in the woods and no ipad. Worse, yet, he didn't even get to shower before this party. Waking up in random places isn't exactly new. Waking up in random parties wouldn't be the first, but it is more unusual. And he cannot begin to vocalize how little he believes or trusts this host.]

Seems like a load of beans, if y'ask me. [No one did, not even you sitting next to him as he continues like your character asked.] I'm just saying, they could've at least let us have a menu first.

Okay so run this by me one more time.

[Taako is staring at the play pieces very intently, memorizing every bit of it he can. He keeps one hand to his chin in thought, because that is absolutely what someone does when they're thinking very hard. Hold a chin to their hand, naturally. He taps the nearest person to him and points at the top.]

If you'll go easy on a newbie, I'll take a shot.

THE PARTY

[ Erik has seen a lot of strange things over the past few decades, so it's really saying a lot when something actually manages to surprise him. This certainly does it, a little too well as a matter of fact.

He'd compare it to an abduction, except the whole thing is a lot nicer and more welcoming than he would expect. He's not being held against his will or imprisoned somewhere (he would know— been there, done that), no fight has broken out (well, not yet anyway), and their hosts seem more keen on dancing and eating than anything else. Unfortunately, it means that any questions Erik has go unanswered, the only explanation he manages to get from any of them being that this party is for him, and for everyone else who's woken up here, just as lost as he is.

While reluctant to try the food, he eventually helps himself to some crackers, moving mostly around the edges of this party, studying both the locals and everyone else. He looks fairly approachable, though he won't have any more answers than everyone else here. ]

A GREAT MIRACLE HAPPENED THERE

[ He's not exactly in the mood for games, but the opportunity to talk to others is a good enough reason for him to be coaxed to one of the tables. He looks over to his current opponent once they've both been explained the rules and split the coins evenly, then gestures to the spinner and the pile of coins. ]

Shall we?

[ When there's a large sign saying "DO NOT EAT", there's only one reasonable decision: don't touch the food. So that's exactly what Erik does, because he's not about to test his luck when he already knows so little about his current situation.

Nevertheless, he's nearby so feel free to load him with whatever problems these desserts have inflicted upon you. Do let him tell you how that was the dumbest thing you could have done. ]

[ There's an underlying irritation in his voice because hello as he flicks his lighter open and closed a few times. ]

The Party

Given the mercurial nature of the Sanctum Stephen is not surprised to look up from his book and find himself somewhere entirely different. There’s a distinct magic all around him and around the party guests who all look so happy to see him there. One of them comes up, takes the book from his hands, and replaces it with a mug of mulled wine.

“Excuse me, I was reading that…” They vanish into the crowd before Stephen can follow because another party guest has blocked his way and started talking about how glad they are that he could attend and they’re so excited to see him.

They propose a toast and before Stephen can make excuses mugs are being tapped and he’s taking a sip of warm, perfectly spice, sweet-dry wine. It’s good. His eyebrows go up in surprise.

Still, he wants his book back. It’s a rare collection of original Golden Dawn writings. It’s not very old but the rarity makes him very interested in getting it back.

Stephen untangles himself from the strange party guest and starts searching through the crowd. He notes the tree, the music, and the magic that still hums in the air all around him. It’s not unlike the Sanctum except this is entirely new energy to him. It’s difficult to describe and more difficult to get a true sense of.

Mirror Universe? No, not quite.

Astral? Slightly but not entirely accurate either.

He’s contemplating the magic and not fully paying attention to where he’s going. He doesn’t mean to bump into a person but he does and spills some of the mulled wine on their sleeve.

“My apologies,” he says immediately, though a little distractedly. Where did that guest go with his book? “I wasn’t paying attention to where I was going. Let me just…”

He flips his hand around and the mug of wine becomes a handkerchief which he presses against the spill. “There.”

A Great Miracle Happened There

Games are not usually what Stephen goes for at parties. He likes wine, controlling the conversation, and leaving as soon as he’s exhausted by everyone. He doesn’t do cute party games or trivia.

Trivia is especially boring when he generally knows the answer to everything.

But he’s pushed into a chair by one of the magical party goers, the rules are explained and he faces off against his opponent.

“Hi.” His smile is brief as chocolate coins are put in front of him.

The other reason Stephen doesn’t play games is the simple fact he is incredibly competitive and it can bring out the worst parts of his personality. He does not play for the enjoyment of the game or the comradery of teamwork.

He plays to win and only win.

Which means in this game of chance after calculating the odds he almost immediately begins to cheat.

Stephen relaxes back into his chair keeping one hand on the table idly tapping next to his pile of chocolate coins while his other hand is under the table, resting on his knee. Where his opponent cannot see his fingers move with a subtle gesture.

A bit of telekinetic magic and oh, the top has landed in his favor! Would you look at that! How fortunate. Must be his lucky night.

Now, he doesn’t do it all the time. It has to appear random. Only it’s “random” enough that Stephen’s pile steadily grows, while his opponent’s slowly shrinks and they are not making back their winnings.

Odd.

Eat Me

Technically speaking Stephen is two party guests in one. He arrived with the Cloak of Levitation around his shoulders and while it has mostly behaved itself for the party pretending to be just a lovely red cloak.

Except when they pass the table that is clearly marked “WARNING: DO NOT EAT.”

The cloak reaches out and deftly scoops a bit of candy into a nice little cup it makes within the folds of itself. It’s very proud of its sleight of hand. It twists around and raises up, showing Stephen its prize of colorful sugary candies.

“What? Where did you get those?” He didn’t notice the cloak had been acting on its own. It can be a very helpful piece of sentient magical fabric but sometimes it acts more like a toddler than an ancient artifact.

The cloak, of course, can’t answer. It shakes the candies and sticks them right under Stephen’s nose stopping him midstep.

“Yes, I see them.” He lowers his voice a little. He’s learned patience is key to working with the cloak. He does not want it flying off on its own in this strange pocket dimension.

The cloak shakes them again.

“What?” More shaking. “You can’t eat those you don’t have a mouth.” More violent shaking. “You want me to eat them?”

Stephen sighs in resignation. The cloak getting things for him or giving things to him is not unusual in their working relationship. It grabs books and tea cups for him all the time. He’s not sure why it wants to give him candy but best to stay on the cloak’s good side.

“Okay, thank you.” He picks out one at random and pops it into his mouth. It tastes unexpectedly of pomegranate. “Yes, very good. Put the rest in my hand, I’ll put them in a pocket.”

Peggy isn't paying attention to where she goes, either, but when a long-fingered hand presses against her and changes the glass of wine into a handkerchief, she bothers to look up at the stranger she's bumped into - who isn't quite as much of a stranger as she'd expected.

"Stephen?" A version of Stephen Strange, at least, though the one she knows no longer exists.

THE PARTY

[ One moment Billy's conducting his spell, searching for All Possible Worlds, all in a bid to make it up to Teddy. Another, he wakes up to this party in a realm that's definitely foreign and far from his own. It certainly feels like it, obviously looks like it, too. Did he screw up the spell somehow? Wouldn't be the first time. He's powerful enough to whisk himself away to another dimension by accident. But somehow, a gut feel tells him this isn't an accident. He'd be able to feel remnants of his magic, at least, a sort of lingering, faint stamp, that this is all his doing.

But no, it's not.

As Billy politely declines the first few invitations to eat, he eventually gave in and tried some of the food. Seems harmless. Feels harmless for the most part. Strange flavor, as if otherwordly, but nothing too drastic. Just then the Lawspeaker stands up and speaks and this ultimately shuts down every doubt in his mind that this is his doing. His eyes go wide in palpable shock. ]

No, this can't - This can't be. I'm not supposed to be here. [ He says, more to himself than anything else, but loud enough for anyone near to hear. Still in disbelief, he extends a hand and a faint blue glow emanates from it. ]

IneedtogohomeIneedtogohome [ He murmurs as an incantation and then, something in his head begins to hurt and the glow in his hand disappears. He winces visibly, dread beginning to dawn on him.

He can't go home. ]

EAT ME

[ Well, Billy's definitely fucked. He's busy trying to make his magic work, to try and open a portal to home, but nothing. Something's obviously negating him, like an invisible force field. It's like, whatever it is, is completely nullifying his ability to open a portal to home. He can open portals, sure, and he even tested his magic on some of the food (he's not going to say which) so that means his powers do work. Just not for going home.

[As much as most people at this party are either reveling, terrified, or both, in the middle of it all there is a plainly dressed Japanese teenager just sort of... looking around. Considering the chaos of party around him, he seems to be very collected, or at least not immediately losing his mind. But if someone were to watch for a bit, they can see signs he's a little uncertain of his surroundings; shifting his weight from one foot to another, tapping the free one toe-first on the ground, hands staying firmly in his pockets. At one point, he goes as if to shift a bag on his shoulder that simply isn't there, quickly resetting again when he realizes. All things considered, he seems to be keeping mostly to himself.

But on the other hand of that, he seems to be just about everywhere.

Quietly, Ren is moving throughout the party, observing different people, things, interactions, like he's quietly putting together some big puzzle. With those glasses, he might even look like he's giving a scholarly thought on the whole thing. But if he spots you watching him, or even if you just seem to look lost and alone, he'll give a little smile and slide up.]

[Okay, so the sign says 'do not eat', but that can't stop him because he can't read he's too curious for his own good. The people-- or, fae?-- running this place seemed to be pretty interested in getting them to eat before, so why put only this stuff off-limits? It seems like it should all be the same food, and it does look really tasty...

Besides, there has to be a reason it's here. And there's only one way to find out.

Ren spends a while examining the table before selecting a custard, and taking a sizable bite. He waits as he chews and swallows for a few moments, and nothing seems to happen. Maybe it wasn't anything after all. Except when he goes to take another bite, he feels-- something, almost like an itch on his head, or like his hair is out of place. He reaches up with his free hand to right it and finds instead it's more his head itself that's moving, something pushing up and out that isn't quite painful but also isn't quite right. Ren shakes his head and then, bobbing into his vision, are two black-and-red antannae. For those who know him, they look almost familiar. He blinks once, actually looking surprised, and then catches someone actually looking at him and makes a little grin like he's been caught.]

I don't know what I expected.

the atmosphere around her shifts, along with what her very eyes see. she gasps, but truly if anyone else in oz could do magic this strong, wouldn't it be their amazing wizard? why he would include symbols of lurlinemas when it is not even the winter season is a mystery ( perhaps it has something to do with where oz the great and powerful wizard hails from himself? ) either way, the imagery is strong and astoundingly beautiful. a table even cropped up just by galinda and she reaches over to see if she can pick up the food from it. wow. amazing, she can! she picks up a seasoned potato wedge and pops that in her mouth, making a loud hum of approval. WOW, it tastes like real food and everything! she's looking at a glass of mulled wine when she feels something strange...the echo rattle of a voice through her body. huh. wait how long has she been here?

she glances from side to side, suddenly realizing that she recognizes no one there, but they seem to be more corporeal than she'd like. the words ringing out have her frozen in place, eyes growing wider and wider as moments pass by. horror etches into galinda's features, even her blonde hair seeming to droop as her shoulders slump. a candied cranberry she'd been holding falls from her fingers and rolls away. ]

The Party
Diana was absolutely sure of three things. The first was that she was dead. Like, dead-dead. The kind of dead-dead that Cainites feared way more than normal people. The second, was this was some kind of heaven. Maybe not the capital-H Heaven that she heard about at the pulpit when she was an itty-bitty Diana. Heaven nevertheless, though.

Third: She wasn't supposed to be here.

That was part of the reason why Diana, ever the social butterfly, found herself more on the peripheries of the party. That, and the fact that she really wasn't dressed for the occasion. She was still wearing the same tattered white dress that Solomon put her in, while holding her prisoner. Almost every visible plane of her body--except for her face--was pocked with bitemarks from his followers. If you were were a sadist, you could play one hell of a game of connect-the-dots on her.

Truthfully, Diana didn't know how to feel about the whole situation. At once, she was both wary and incredibly relieved. It was a heady combination, made only slightly dizzier by the fact that she hadn't walked in months and was leaving behind slightly bloody footprints.

Definitely not how she preferred to make a first impression.

A Great Miracle Happened There
She knew the game. Many winters, when she was on the Order compound, she would spend hours playing it with some of the younger dhampir. This was mostly back before they discovered video games and Facebook. Generation after generation, though, everyone continue to love the gold coins. Even Diana, although she'd never actually tasted much in the way of chocolate in her life.

They just smelled so good.

Despite her haggard and bitten appearance, she offered anyone who caught her eye a smile. Not just any smile. No, this was the smile that her younger sister called her 'pinball machine smile.' A smile so bright that it went all the way up to her eyes and made them gleam like the lights on a pinball machine. Bright purple.

"You wanna play?" Her accent was American. Aggressively west coast, hinting at Valley Girl. And her voice was very, very kind.

Tim has plenty of experience with galas of all sorts. He puts on his second-best polite smile and moves through the people and mingles with what appears to be ease. There are enough confused looking newcomers that he doesn't feel the need to be wholly fake, just, you know, fake enough. He might well point out some of the nicer snacks to someone else, that the oranges are pretty good, and while he might have a glass of mulled wine in hand, he rarely (if ever) drinks from it.

Speaking of being fake enough, there is no way he's giving out his real name until he has a better feel for what flavour of magic this is. If asked, he's Theo and he's going to stay a Theo for as long as he can.

It's a little odd to see a not-dreidel here, and he wonders if it's a native game that just happens to mimic one he knows, or if it's their odd, interpretation of the tradition but somehow divorced from the meaning. Either way, he'll offer to play with anyone that looks curious.

[ Strangely, this isn't the first time he's been whisked away to some magical other land in the past twenty-four hours. Sure, one of those places was still solidly on Earth and the circumstances were different. Just based on atmosphere alone, this place didn't give more mystical horror movie vibes... It's light and vibrant and if it wasn't for a certain nagging paranoia he might enjoy it more. Even if his own readings he knows better to trust the Fae - time on the Road was weird and he hasn't eaten. ]

[ He is also trying desperately to tell himself this isn't all somehow his fault, but he didn't know how to stop the first one he hardly knows how to stop this one if it is - ]

[ He starts to relax a little and enjoy it more as the party goes on. As no seeming swords from the ceiling fall or no one falls from food poisoning, both very real possibilities these days. When the Lawmaker does stand-up to speak, it gets the teenager to straighten. Your loved ones are likely dead, and the first thing he can think of is Tommy. Tommy who he's still looking for, which means no his problems haven't played out Miss Fae and he has to find his brother. ]

[ Somewhere in between everything there is a game. He missed it the first time and then the second time he pauses. Overhearing the rules being told to someone else he tilts his head. ]

[ First time for everything. Maybe they stole it from some guest past and adapted it for their own. It's more the siren's call of nostalgia and want of something to do that has him take up a table and sit down, offering a wary smile and a tentative wave of the hand at curious on-lookers. ]

[For a few long moments after waking up, Regis just sits. Still. His eyes take in his surroundings, while his mind races attempting to figure out what in the Astrals' names just happened. He shouldn't be awake at all since his attacker had been so hell bent on beating the life out of him. If nothing else, his body should ache from the beating and his side should be screaming from the sword wound he'd taken. Yet, he felt fine. Physically.

Mentally was another story. Part of him wanted to demand he be sent back home. It wasn't as if he had been pulled from another boring council meeting. He had been fighting--and granted, probably dying--to save his people. Another part of him--the part that was once a little boy who read too many myths and too much lore--knew the best outcome of that would likely be him getting into a worse mess than he was in now. The adult that little boy had grown into knew all myths and lore came from a seed of truth and on Eos, at least, often that seed of truth led back to daemons. If these beings were anything like daemons, the last thing he wanted to do was get their attention.

Yes, it was better not to stir up trouble yet. There was too much Regis needed to learn before he could start to plan and those marked as troublemakers rarely had as many chances to learn as others.

Besides, so far it seemed that these beings valued tradition, rules, and a sense of order. He understood that. All those things had been a part of his life as long has he could remember. It was a game he played at home and it was certainly a game he could play here, especially if it meant getting him home.

Lucis needed him. Eos needed him. Aulea needed him.

After being so still, Regis finally moves, groaning and putting his head into his hands.]

Astrals, Clarus is going to kill me.

[That is, if their attacker, the man who only identified himself as the infamous Adagium, hadn't finished the job already.]

Gifts? I'm afraid that I don't put much value on what one might consider a traditional gift. Too many "gifts" have come my way with strings attached or with the sole purpose of buying the favor of me or my country.

Were I pressed to pick my favorite of the true gifts I have received, I would say it was when my wife gave me her hand in marriage. While our marriage was arranged like most royal ones are, she and I are friends from childhood whose friendship grew into something more. I was truly blessed the day we were finally able to make the marriage official.

[Kerym is, from the outset, confused, because she is dead, and this is not what happens to the dead in Faerûn. She should have been judged (poorly, probably) by Kelemvor by now, and most likely wandering the City of the Dead or the Fugue Plane. What god would claim her but Bhaal, after all, and he was the one who put her here, for her disobedience.

Family drama, am I right?

Not to say she isn't grateful. The Fugue Plane has never sounded very pleasant, and while there are many stories of just how nasty the Feywild can get, it's at least interesting. And beautiful, in a strange way.

[Things in the Feywild are often not as they seem, but considering that eating has effectively trapped her here, and this food comes with a warning, Kerym thinks it best to steer clear. She leaves the table alone and wanders elsewhere.

The forbidden food comes to her, instead. One of the candies, which she's handed by someone who is gone a moment later. Kerym is staggeringly intelligent, but she's not nearly as wise. She eats it.

Blitzø sees the sign that says Do Not Eat and immediately stops what he's doing to glare at it. Then he flips it off. "You don't tell me what to do, bitch!"

A moment later he's happily munching away on candy. Ha. That'll show someone. There's no possible way he'll regret this choice.

Once he's gotten into the swing of things, Blitzø's fun to party with. He's enjoying the food, the drinks, the dancing, the flirting, the drinks, the games, and the drinks. He's having fun. Not thinking too much about the complicated shitshow that is his life.

And then that all comes to a screeching halt when he learns he can't go home.

"Ex-the fuck-scuse me??" He's too short to make it through the crowd easily, but he's jumping up and down, trying to push through. Not being especially gentle about it. "You can't just--I have a daughter, bitch!! Send me back right the fuck now!"

Poor Loonie. He doesn't want to be another person to abandon her, not when she's finally warming up to him. He also doesn't want to abandon all the other people he loves. Or his business. Or fucking anything!!

Once I realized we were eating fae food, first I wanted to kick myself for not realizing it sooner, and second I decided to get all but hammered on the spiced wine. And that was pleasant enough really.

But now there's an... animal trying to see over the heads of the taller people - all of whom seem to be disgruntled about the announcement that we can't leave. Believe me, I'm disgruntled, I'm just also resigned to something I'd kinda already suspected.
