Andros survived this long because DECA refused to open doors and complete operations if her Red Ranger didn't sleep, eat or bandage himself. Like any good AI turned parental figure, DECA used appropriate incentive. Or blackmail. Since he wasn't dead, you can assume it turned out okay. But, it wasn't as if Andros was.
