I know. Aren't they beautiful?

[ Charles says it with the deep appreciation of variation of form; those with physical mutations in their own society have to hide, but here, they have to do no such thing. Charles can see an incredible diversity of appearance, from jewel-toned skin to mouths full of fangs to iridescent wings. That they can freely be who they are, here, is a beautiful thing.

But I, too, never particularly believed in mythology or fairytales. [ To a certain extent -- he has a whole essay written about how it's likely that many of their world's myths and legends stemmed from early mutants, and he regales every new student year group with that essay. ] But here we are nonetheless, and I suppose there's nothing for it.
