They weren't fighting each other any more. Steve wants to keep it that way. Besides, it feels a little weird to punch a dead man who he deeply respects.

"You're a perfectly capable fighter without your armor." He knows how much Tony trains. He doesn't think he needs the magic to protect himself, especially magical gifts given by the people who kidnapped them.
