Victor, himself, has not struggled as much as he could have, but he does his research, gets paid, and doesn't truly have to think too much about things. He doesn't have as much money as he once did, but he has enough to get by.

"I suppose we will have to come to an agreement that our desires will not end in the same place," he says after some time. He will always want to leave and she will likely prefer to stay. It is not for him to make demands of anyone. "They should likely allow those that wish to leave go, but I suppose that is unlikely all the same."
