"I know about being that hungry. Sometimes I would carve the bark off a pine tree to chew just to feel like I was eating something," Katniss says. "It's the kind of hungry you never forget. I almost died from it until I could go and hunt in the woods for myself. Even still - I would choose being free and hungry over being anyone's slave," Katniss says.

It seems that she's walked into that, though, by eating these pretty dishes that she shouldn't have trusted. She should never have trusted it.

"I don't trust when things are pretty on the outside. Means they're hiding something."
